Up in arms

Hello classmates!

Today I’m going to talk about things or situations that get me up in arms. My friends sometimes said me that I am get angry with facility. When I was in the high school, a lot of things kept me up in arms, now I think that is changing, I am more relax, I think.

One thing that get me up in arms, is the literature self-help. I don’t hate all this type of literature, but I don’t like the authors that tell you “if you want, you can get it”, “you can be happy only if you are proposing” “you are inventing your own problems” and all these shits. I hate that, the life isn’t perfect, there are a lot of problems. Why we have to be happy all the day? It’s necessary the sadness, the anger. It’s boring be happy all the life, and is impossible, always appear some problems.

Other thing. I get up in arms when I listen some critics to the student movement. Sometimes I listen “all these students are lazy, they have to be studying if they want to change something”. I hate that, I cannot be relax, be calm when I listen some people saying that. The last protest, I was there when a police catch a student and start to hit him because he tried to escape, I listen a person near there saying “the police have to hit all these students”, seriously? When I listen that, I start to argue with him, I get “up in arms”, I hate these people.

I think that's all, bye!

The final activity

Hello classmates!

Today I’m going to talk about the activity “Travel to London”. Well, this activity was entertaining, because we had to look for activities to do in London. So, we had to look for in google about museums, monuments, parks, etc. I almost never did traveled to other country. Just, when I was a kid, I traveled to “Mendoza”, but I didn’t remember too much. For that, this activity was funny, because looking for places to “visit”, I got to know about this city.

I would like to visit the London Eye, the Tate Modern, the Southbank Center and some parks and museums. Also, I would like visit some pubs and bars, I think that also is important to visit. Not only museums and parks, also is important, for me, know about the London’s night, his bohemia. So, I didn’t like to visit only museums and parks.

I would like do this trip with my classmates because we are young and, partly for that, we have the same interest. So, we could hang out in parties, in pubs, etc.

That’s all! Bye!

Interestellar

Well, today I’m going to talk about my favorite film. Again, always when I have to choose my favorite film, I can’t decide. When I think in my favorite films, I think in three movies: “Her”, “Interestellar” “Batman: The Dark Knight”. “Her” is a romantic film. It’s a very good film. Here acts Joaquin Phoenix. “Batman: The Dark Knight” is an action film. I don’t like action movies, but this movie is different. The characters of this movie are awesome. Heath Ledger acts like the joker, and his acting is memorable. Finally “Interestellar” also is an awesome film. Today I choose this movie like my favorite movie. I saw this movie on October, 2014, in the cinema. I waited for this movie, because I love his director Christopher Nolan. In this film acts Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway y Michael Caine. All acted good, especially the acting of Matthew McConaughey. The genre of this movie is the drama and Sci-Fi. The story of the movie is that in the future there will be a natural disaster, and for that, every day, the life there gets worse, because the air is every day worse and the food is ending. For that, some explorers have to find other worlds that the humanity can colonize. Matthew McConaughey is one of these explorers. The themes of the movie are about space, universe, wormhole, the future, the past, the law of relativity, etc. One of my favorite scenes of this movie, is when Matthew “travel to the future” (is hard to explain in few words) and he listen the messages from his sons (they sent messages as they become older). When I saw this scene in the cinema, I couldn’t stop crying.

One of my favorite artists: "Cevladé"

Well, I have to choice one of two topic. I choose write about one of my favorite artist. It’s difficult choose a favorite artist, because I love music, I try to listen to music all the day, so I know a lot of bands and artists. The name of the artist that I chose is called “Cevladé”. His real name is Wladimir Espinoza, he is a Chilean singer. He is a rapper and when I knew him, I started to listen to this type of music. I think that I like too much this artist, because their songs contain influence of literature. Also he has an album called “El gato negro” and this is an adaption of the story of Edgar Allan Poe. Is a great song, is awesome how Cevlade adapts the story to a rap song. The album “el gato negro” is composed for four songs, and all have too much literary influence. This album is composed for “el gato negro”, “Madrigal triste” (adaptation for a poem of Baudelaire), “Noche del infierno” (adaptation for a poem of Rimbaud) and finally “Nave estelar” that is a creation of Cevlade. I don’t know which is my favorite song of Cevlade. I try to think, but is very difficult choose only one song. So, I’m going to tell you four songs, but I only going to put one video. The four songs are “Madrigal triste”, “Las lagrimas no ayudan”, “La apología de Lucifer” and finally “Hijo”. I loved the lyrics of these four songs.

Somethings that i would like to learn

Hello everyone

I’m going to talk about me. I have to talk about something that I would learn to do. It’s difficult, because there are lots of things I would like to learn to do. For example, I like listen to music, a lot. Also I play the guitar. But I would like to learn to play others instruments. An instrument that I love how sounds, it’s the saxophone. I think that is an instrument very beautiful, but the big problem is that this instrument is very expensive. However, that instrument I would like to learn to play.

Other thing that I would like to learn is about Cinema. I love watching movies. Two years ago I start to watch a lot of films, like 1 film per day. I see Germany films, French films, etc. I start to love some independent films, not all, but some independent films were great. So, I would like to learn about the world of cinema.

Also, I would like to learn about literature. I love read novels, but now as I am in the university and I don’t have free time, I can’t read novels. When I was in the high school, I tried to read a lot of novels, in that period I learned a little about literature.

That’s all, bye!

Hello everybody

Today I’m going to talk about Santiago. I was born in Santiago, in Maipú. So, I lived all my life in this city. Somedays I like Santiago and somedays I hate it. I like Santiago, especially the center of Santiago, because is different, there are a lot of things to visit. Also, I like, for example, the “Parque Forestal”, this place is very near than the center of Santiago. I don’t know why I like the center of Santiago. I can’t explain because I think there is not so pretty, but I like it, maybe because in the center of Santiago and near, there are museums, restaurants, and all you want, I think.

I dislike Santiago because some people in the street and in the public transport they are angry, stressed. They just walk, they don’t talk and they don’t smile. I know this happens because the day in Santiago is very fast, they go out late for their homes, the public transport is bad. So, I know that not all the problem is responsibility of the people, but of the system of live that exists.

I think if the public transport was better and people do not work so much, Santiago would be a better place.

I recommend if I talk with a visitor, that he have to go to “Parque Forestal”, also he have to go to Bellavista if he want to have a good time and I would tell some streets that he has to visit for know Santiago.

That’s all, Bye!

Hello everybody

I’m going to talk about me and why I chose Sociology. When I was in High School, I liked a lot History. So, for that, I thought being history teacher, because also I liked to teach. When I was sixteen years old, I was interested in politics, learn about conflicts in Chile and understand why suddenly appeared protests, and I thought for that reason I had to study History. But, it’s very difficult be teacher in Chile, so, I started to look for more careers. One day, I went out with mi cousin and he told me that look for sociology, because my interests were connected with that career. I started to look for about this career, and I liked a lot. Thus come to study Sociology.

I think a sociologist can contribute to a society with their investigations. Trying to understand the reality and their social processes. It is also important that the sociologist contribute for change. For the last, the sociologist have to have a critical position, and a critical look. He has to be reflective and analitic.

In this moment, my favorite subject is “Historia Social Chilena” with the teacher Gabriel Salazar. I like a lot this subject because I love the Social History, and I think is very important know about the history of one country for understand the current problems.

I think that is all, bye!

Hello classmates. I’m going to talk about something very complicated: The strikes.

Some people are saying that it’s going to be a strike after May 21. It’s a rumor very strong. This rumor not only exists here in my campus “Juan Gomez Millas”. Also it has been heard in all the institution of “Universidad de Chile” and in other universities. I have a friend in “Universidad de Santiago de Chile” that tell me if I know something about a probably strike. I told him that I didn’t know about it, but I had been heard about a probably strike.

I don’t know what is going to happen. I didn’t believe that this semester would be a strike, but suddenly all the students are talking about this possibility.

I go almost all the student protest, but I have to admit that I didn’t participate a lot in that. For example, the last year I went very little to my department, I preferred stay in home studying because I was very stress. But that was very bad. The university changes to me, because if the strike happened in my school when I was there, I would have gone always.

I propose to go and participate in the strike this semester, if this happens. I think a strike is important for demanding things, but I believe that parallel to the strike, It is necessary more radicalization, more protest, it’s necessary in the strike talk about proposal to radicalize the protest. We need to be listening and also we need the support of the people, something very difficult. If we don’t radicalize the protest, and only we paralyze for a month, I think there will not be benefits.

"Les Poètes maudits"

Hello everyone

I have to write about any topic or person. I don’t know what topic to choose. Okay, I found one. I’m going to talk about “Les Poètes maudits de Sáftsàck”. The term “maldit poet” was coined in the beginning of the 19th century by Alred de Vigny. After that, Paul Verlaine, a French poet, used this term in his book “Les Poètes maudits de Sáftsàck”. The phrase “poète maudit” refer to a poet who lives a life outside or against the society. The life for this type of poet is in an environment of abuse of drugs and alcohol, insanity, crime, any action that is taken as a crime. The life of a “poète maudit” usually is very tragic, and in some cases finish with a early dead.

In the book of Verlaine “Les Poètes maudits de Sáftsàck”, 7 poets were named, including the author, among them were Arthur Rimbaud, Stéphane Mallarmé, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, Tristan Corbière, etc. This term was so popular among poets in the world. After the work of Verlaine, Charles Baudelaire reflected their influence in his book “Les Fleurs du mal”, more exactly in the poem “Bénédiction”.

This term arrived the entire world, even Latin-American. Edgar Allan Poe, a famous American writer, was one of the last “poète maudit”, and some says that Charles Bukowski was the last.

That’s all. I hope that you liked this topic. Goodbye

Hello everybody

I’m going to write about my presentation of Eric Hobsbawm. Read the biography of Hobsbawm for doing this presentation was a really good experience, ‘cause I didn’t know that he was, for example, president of a University on London, and I didn't know some awards that he received for his work. Also, reading the biography of Hobsbawm, I could see that he was serving in the Second World War. With this presentation I could know that he was jewish, he was born in Egypt and he had to live with a adoptive family after the dead of his parents. I knew about this man, ‘cause I had to read a lot of his books in contemporary social history. I found his work very interesting.

The best Chicken Wings

Hi, I’m going to talk about a restaurant that I visited for the first time recently and has food very delicious. This restaurant is called “Chicken Story” and is a Korean restaurant. The especially of this restaurant are the chicken wings, a Korean chicken that has a sweet and sour sauce, very spicy and very tasty. This restaurant is near the Bellas Artes station, in patronato. The place is located between Antonia López de Bello and Loreto. In sub, you can arrive in station Patronato or Bellas Artes, I prefer Bellas Artes, because I think is more short the walk to the restaurant from here. As I said, the specialty of this restaurant is the ckicken wings, you can choose between chicken TNT, this chicken is very hot, Chicken sweet and sour sauce, this chicken is delicious and I think is the best choice, and also you can choose only chicken wings without sauce. If you don’t like chicken wings, you can eat a delicious Korean soup.

That’s all, you have to go to this place, I recommended :)

I was watching some computer desk in overstock.com and if i had $ 200 would buy a computer desk called "A- frame Black Hardwood Desk" . It's very nice and very comfortable. It costs $156. And Then i saw  a desktop computer and if i had $ 800 would buy a desktop computer called "HP Pavilion 17 - g100 17 - g140nr 17.3" Touchscreen Notebook - Intel Core "It's an amazing notebook , very fast and costs $ 780.

After I saw overstock.com I did an activity. Was a quiz about internet. I just had 5 correct answers of 10. That's bad. After that, I did another test of Internet. The test is called "Internet Addiction Test". My final score was 37 points, that's mean my addiction an Internet is mild, that's good, I think. Then I did a gap-filling activity about the mp3 player. My score was 86%. I wanted 100% :(

I've chosen this article called "Are two parents better than one" because I think is a very interesting topic. I think it was a little incomplete, I would have liked to find more information.
It was very interesting read about the Wallerstein’s study case of 131 children and the impact on their own long-term relationships as the result of divorcee parents.

That's all. Bye!

I didn't know how picture put, but i think this photo is good.
I took this picture when i went to south of Chile. I was like 13 years old. This place is near Ralco and a volcano called Callaqui. It's a lake called "la mula".
This place is very pretty, there are a lot of "araucarias" and is very quiet. We camped there for a week.
It was a very great experience, but how I was only 13 years old, i didn't value it. If I went now, I would value it, because have a landscape very beautiful and the history of this place maybe is interesting.

I went to "La mula" with my family and a friend family.
